Our Story, From our Farms of Sindh to our Gelato lab in Karachi

The Land Before the Scoop

Long before there was a gelato, there was a farm.

In the sun-drenched plains of Mirpurkhas, Sindh, where the Indus River runs generous and the soil holds centuries of memory, Haji Muhammad Kachelo planted his first mango trees in the 1800s. He didn't know it then, but he was planting something far greater than fruit. He was planting a legacy.

The climate here is almost mythical in its generosity. Rich mineral deposits, a fertile natural ecosystem, and the life-giving rhythm of the Indus conspired to grow mangoes unlike any other in the world. Word spread. The Kachelo name became a quiet promise: if it comes from this land, it is the finest.

A Name Grown Over Generations

Generation after generation, the Kachelo family tended the same soil with the same devotion, sowing, nurturing, harvesting, repeating. Nothing was rushed. Every Chaunsa, every Sindhri, every Anwar Rathol and Bombay Alphonso was grown the way it always had been: with patience, with expertise, and with an almost stubborn commitment to perfection.

The world changed around them. The Kachelo farm changed too, embracing modern agricultural science, earning global certifications, expanding sustainably, but the philosophy never did. From the sow to the reap, the family's pursuit of the finest remained unchanged.

Today, Kachelo mangoes and strawberries are recognised among the world's best. It is not flattery. It is the fruit of two centuries of relentless care.

From the Farm to Your Spoon

Kachelo Gelato was born from a simple but powerful idea: what if the world's finest fruit became the world's finest gelato?

Not fruit concentrate. Not flavouring. The actual mangoes, hand-picked from our own fields in Mirpurkhas, pulped within hours, and churned into something extraordinary. When you dip your spoon into a pint of Kachelo Gelato, you are tasting the Sindh harvest, nothing more and nothing less.

Our strawberries follow the same story. Grown in our own fields, nurtured under open skies, harvested at peak fragrance, and turned into gelato that tastes like the moment you plucked a strawberry straight from the vine.

This is what farm-to-table truly means, not a marketing phrase, but a supply chain with no middlemen, no compromises, and no shortcuts. From our soil to your spoon.

Crafted With the Same Devotion

Beyond the fruit, our gelato reflects the same obsessive care that has defined the Kachelo name for generations.

Our handcrafted flavours are made entirely in-house, the Chocolate Nougatine, for instance, is layered with a crunchy nougatine of caramelised almonds we make by hand. The Caramel Honeycomb Toffee is built around a handcrafted honeycomb, coated in chocolate and folded into a silky caramel base. Nothing is bought in. Nothing is rushed.

Our Signature Creations take that same craft further, a silky Tiramisu gelato infused with espresso and finished with cocoa dust, a Blueberry Cheesecake layered with real berry ripple and biscuit crumbs, a Strawberry Cheesecake built on the same farm-grown fruit that started it all. Each one is a small act of artisanship, offered to you in every spoonful.

Our Promise to You

Two centuries ago, Haji Muhammad Kachelo chose this land and gave it everything. Every generation since has honoured that choice.

When you taste Kachelo Gelato, you taste all of it, the soil, the river, the seasons, the handcrafted care, and the family that has never once settled for less than the finest.

We hope you feel it in every spoonful.

For the love of Earth

What also sets the Kachelo apart is its love for water, soil, earth, roots, trees, birds, fish and the planet (all inclusive). The environmental endeavors at the fruit farm and the Gelato Factory are commendable with processes and operations designed around steps of sustainability as priority.
